Big Performance Boost & Sharper Gameplay!

We've been busy under the hood making your favorite browser Go game even better! This update focuses on making the AI faster, the game more reliable, and the overall experience smoother. While a lot of the changes are "behind the scenes," you should definitely feel the difference!

What's New & Improved?

1. Speedier AI Opponent (KataNet on Overdrive!):
   • This is the big one! We've significantly optimized how the game uses the brilliant KataNet AI.
   • What does this mean for you? The AI (your opponent in PvA mode, or when you ask for a hint) should now think and make its moves noticeably faster!
     
   • The (not-too-techy) secret: The game now tries to use the super-fast processing power of your computer's graphics card (using something called WebGL) to run the AI. If that's not available, it smartly tries other efficient methods before using the standard CPU. The result? Less waiting, more playing!

1. More Reliable Game Loading & Saving (SGF Superpowers!):
   • Loading your saved games or SGF files from other sources is now even more robust.
   • We've paid special attention to "Komi" (those extra points White gets). The game is now much better at understanding and applying the correct Komi when you load a game, especially for reviewing games that might have had different Komi settings.
   • This ensures fairness and accuracy when you're revisiting old matches or playing through famous games.
2. Sharper Game Logic & Fewer Quirks:
   • We've done a deep dive into the game's core rules engine. Think of it like a tune-up for a high-performance car!
   • This means:
     • More accurate handling of tricky situations on the board.
     • Smoother operation when you use features like "Undo."
     • Overall, a more stable and predictable Go experience, letting you focus on your strategy.
3. Under-the-Hood Polish:
   • Lots of smaller tweaks and refinements have been made to how the game remembers board states, whose turn it is, and how it communicates with the AI.
   • These might not be flashy, but they all contribute to a more solid and enjoyable game.
