We’ve just rolled out a major update to the Game Review Mode in our online Go game—designed to help you learn faster and understand your games (and SGFs from the pros!) like never before.

✨ What’s New?

1. "Analyze All Moves" – The Deep Dive Button

Tired of clicking "Analyze This Move" for every single step in a long game? We heard you!

Now, in Review Mode, you’ll find a new "Analyze All Moves" button.

• With one click, our KataNet AI analyzes the entire game, move by move.

• It calculates point losses, suggests better alternatives, and categorizes each move (Good, Inaccuracy, Mistake, or Blunder).

• Includes a progress indicator with the option to cancel anytime.

• Powers both the Evaluation Graph and the new Critical Moves Summary (see below!).

2. Critical Moves Summary – Pinpoint Your Learning

Once analysis is complete (via "Analyze All Moves" or individual move analysis), the Critical Moves Summary panel activates.

This list highlights all the key moments where points were lost. For each critical move, you’ll see:

• The Move Number and Player (Black or White)

• The actual move played (e.g., Q16)

• The AI’s categorization (Blunder, Mistake, Inaccuracy)

• The number of points lost compared to the optimal move

Bonus: Every item is clickable—tap any move to instantly jump to that moment and see the full analysis!

3. Quick Navigation: “Previous/Next Critical”

To make your study even smoother, we’ve added "Prev Critical" and "Next Critical" buttons below the summary.

• Jump directly between only the key mistakes (skipping over good moves)

• Focus on moments with the highest learning potential

• Like having a Go teacher pointing out exactly where things went wrong—or right!

🧠 Behind the Scenes: How It Works

When you click "Analyze All Moves," our in-browser KataNet AI (powered by TensorFlow.js) gets to work:

1. Analyzes the board before each move.

2. Determines the best possible move and the expected score.

3. Compares it to the actual move played and recalculates the score.

4. Calculates the difference, and categorizes the move accordingly.

This data powers the Evaluation Graph and the new Critical Moves Summary for an enhanced review experience.

We’re thrilled about these improvements and hope they’ll make your post-game analysis more educational and engaging than ever.
