Game Objective:

Be the first player to move all four of your tokens from your starting base, around the entire board track, and safely into your home column (finish line).

How to Play:

• Starting Out: Players take turns in a clockwise order. To move a token from your home base onto your starting square, you must roll a 6.
• Rolling a 6: If you roll a 6, you get an additional turn. However, rolling three consecutive 6s results in forfeiting your current turn.
• Movement: Tokens move clockwise around the main path according to the number rolled on the die.
• Capturing: If your token lands on a square occupied by an opponent's single token (and it's not a safe square), the opponent's token is captured and sent back to their home base. Capturing an opponent's token grants you an extra turn.
• Safe Squares: Squares marked with a '⭐' are safe. Tokens on these squares cannot be captured. Multiple tokens (even from different players) can occupy a safe square.
• Blockades: If you land on a square already occupied by one of your own tokens, your tokens stack up. A stack of two or more of your tokens creates a block that opponent tokens cannot pass or land on.
  • Note: Your own tokens cannot stack in your home stretch/column; each square there can hold only one of your tokens.
• Home Column: Once a token has traveled the entire board, it can enter its colored home column. A token can only be moved into or within the home column by an exact dice roll (it cannot overshoot the finish line or jump over your other tokens already in the home column).
• Winning: The first player to get all four tokens to the finish line wins! The game continues until (N-1) players have finished, assigning ranks accordingly. Getting a token to the finish line grants an extra turn (unless it's your last token and you win).

Controls & UI:

• Roll Dice Button: Click this button when it's your turn to roll the die.
• Tokens: After rolling, if you have valid moves, clickable tokens will be highlighted. Click on a highlighted token to move it.
• Player Info Area: Displays the status of each player (active, tokens home/finished, AI personality, rank).
• Message Area: Provides real-time updates on game events and whose turn it is.
• Settings Button: Opens a modal to adjust game options.
• Help Button: Opens the "How to Play" guide.
• Restart Button: Starts a new game with current settings.

AI Behavior:

Our AI players are designed to offer a challenging and varied experience:

• Easy AI: Makes mostly valid moves, often prioritizing getting tokens out of home. Less aware of complex threats or advanced strategies.
• Medium AI: Attempts to make more strategic choices, such as capturing opponent tokens, moving to safe squares, and advancing tokens towards home. Performs basic risk assessment.
• Hard AI: Plays more strategically. Actively tries to block opponents, prioritizes high-value captures, demonstrates better risk management, and aims for strategic positioning. It will try to avoid deploying tokens into immediate danger if other safer, valuable moves are available.
• AI Personalities (Aggressive, Defensive, Runner, Balanced): Each AI, regardless of difficulty, also has an underlying personality that influences its decision-making, adding another layer to their play style.
