Your Feedback in Action! Smarter AI, Fairer Fights!

Hello, Minesweeper Commanders!

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who has played the game and shared their thoughts. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and has been the driving force behind this latest update. I've been reading all of your comments and have targeted some of the most common points to make the game experience smoother, fairer, and more fun.

Let's dive into what's new!

Fixing the "Sudden Ending"

A lot of you were asking, "Why did the match end? There were still tiles left!"

You were right to be confused! I discovered that in multiplayer, the game was sometimes ending prematurely. It was accidentally counting detonated mines towards the "cleared cells" goal, which could trigger a win before all the safe ground was actually secured.

Now, the game's victory condition has been retuned. A match will only conclude when every single non-mine cell has been revealed. This ensures those tense, down-to-the-wire endgames will play out fully to the very last click!

Balancing the "Lucky Jackpot"

Another common point was about lucky first clicks giving one player a huge, early lead. While a big reveal is exciting, it shouldn't decide the whole match on the first turn.

To address this, the points you get from revealing a large area are now capped at 10—the same as the penalty for hitting a mine. This keeps the scores tighter, makes comebacks more possible, and rewards consistent play over a single lucky break.

Un-Freezing the AI

Some of you noticed the AI would occasionally just stop, getting stuck on "Thinking" and freezing the game.

You found a real head-scratcher! It turns out the AI was smart enough to use flags to figure out its next move, but it didn't know how to use already revealed mines in its logic. If it saw a "1" next to a mine that had already exploded, it got confused and couldn't figure out that the other nearby tiles were safe.

I've sent the AI back to school, and now it correctly analyzes both flags and revealed mines to make its decisions. This should stop it from freezing and makes it a slightly more formidable opponent. Good luck!

A More Useful Counter for Multiplayer

Another great piece of feedback was that the "Mines Left" counter in multiplayer was confusing. It goes down when your opponent places a flag, but you don't know if they're right or wrong. In a competitive match, you care about the facts, not your opponent's guesses.

To fix this, the info box in all multiplayer modes has been changed from "Mines Left" to "Mines Revealed." It now shows a simple, factual count of how many mines have been detonated so far (e.g., "5 / 40"). This gives you a clear and accurate picture of the game state without any misleading info.

Thank you again for helping me improve the game! I truly believe these changes make the competitive modes more strategic and enjoyable.

Please jump in, try out the changes, and let me know what you think in the comments below. Your voice helps shape the future of the game!
